Welcome to Indian Land Middle School,
A National Schools to Watch Middle School &
A South Carolina School of Character

Indian Land Middle School is an outstanding place to teach and learn. A testament to the school's success is the strong support from our parents, community, school personnel, and district administration. The collaborative effort amongst these constituents is critical to our current and future successes.

With a shared vision, our administration and faculty earnestly develop our students' scholarship, character, and citizenship. We accomplish this by demonstrating exceptional teaching reflective of best practices in education, offering ALL students the opportunity to participate in clubs, organizations, and athletics, and having them take part in our One Book, One School literacy and service learning initiatives.

Parents...let's continue to present a united front by developing a strong partnership between home and school. By participating on the School Improvement Council, joining the Parent Teacher Association, and attending conferences and school events, you validate the importance of education and encourage your child to be well-rounded.

With both a spirit of optimism and belief that "What Happens Here Will Change the World," I welcome you to a new school year. Here's to teamwork and a commitment to do our best for the students at Indian Land Middle School.

According to the Lancaster County School District, parents should place the following words in the SUBJECT line of each e-mail:  regarding my student (all lowercase with no punctuation or extra words). By inserting these words in the subject line, teachers and administrators will be able to receive your e-mails.

Make-Up Work Policy

It is vital to teach our young adults the importance of being responsible and having a good work ethic. One means of teaching these qualities entails our asking students to complete missed assignments. Because we have high expectations for all learners, we encourage them to submit missed assignments according to the following guidelines:

Number of Days Missed Days to Make Up Work
1-2 2
3 3
4 4
5 or more 5

If student neglect to submit missed assignments, they will receive a grade of "0" for the assignments. We suggest that upon returning to school, students should ask their teachers to provide them with a list of their make-up work. In addition, students and parents may check the teachers' e-Chalk pages to see when they are available for extra tutoring. Finally, we encourage you to contact the teacher to set up a time for the students to receive the extra help they need.
